Northern Nigeria has repeatedly been in the news as a result of severe persecution of Christians at the hands of Boko Haram. Christian villages were systematically attacked and burned down. Students have been kidnapped out of schools. Believers have been killed, maimed, and terrorized . . . even in their places of worship!
Samuel was born into a Muslim family line that claims to be direct descendants of Muhammad. However his father was a believer and Samuel also accepted Christ at a young age. By the age of 9 he told his mother: “One day I want to become a missionary and I want to share the gospel in the villages.” He has been doing this since he was 14 years of age and the extremists are searching for him and want to kill him. He is married and has three children and considers it a privilege to be persecuted for the sake of Jesus. Over the last 10 years Samuel has been training up evangelists and has already sent 350 of them into areas where persecution and martyrdom have a high prevalence.
